Last night The Groves partnered with the Houston Museum of Natural Science to bring the Discovery Dome, a portable full-dome theater that surrounds children with soaring spaceships!
Children were emersed into the Secret Lives of Stars and went on Earth's Wild Ride to learn more about science and space.
In addition to the dome shows, the event included hands on activity stations.
The "Make-It" Butterfly Life Cycle station modeled each stage of the butterfly's life cycle, explored through metamorphosis.
The Investigation Station had more than just the kids interested with Venomous vs. Poisonous where residents examined specimens and explored the differences between the terms venomous and poisonous.
In between the shows and activities children created their own "Cosmic Stars".
This space themed snack came together with rice krispie treats, star shapped cookie cutters, frosting and sprinkles!
And what goes best with Cosmic Stars? Cosmic Brownies, Moon Pies and rock candy of course!
We can't thank HMNS enough for coming out and creating an event where kids can learn while having fun. Be sure to check the event calendar for more information coming soon on our next event with HMNS!
